WYOMING, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team improved to 3-0 with an 87-68 win at Grace Christian University Wednesday night.
Kalamazoo led by as many as 16 points (34-18) in the first half before taking a 42-34 lead into halftime.
The host Tigers (4-4) cut the deficit to five with a three-pointer to start the second half, but soon trailed by double digits. Grace got to within nine (63-54) with 8:19 remaining before a 16-1 run by Kalamazoo put the game out of reach.
Kalamazoo shot 50 percent overall compared to 38.3 percent by Grace. Kalamazoo made 7-of-19 three-pointers compared to 11-of-29 by Grace. The Hornets made 8-of-16 free throws. Grace made 11-of-18.
Kalamazoo outrebounded Grace 45-29 overall including 17-11 on the offensive end.
Carter Bandemer led four Hornets in double figures with 15 points, three assists and five steals.
Patrick Perez scored 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds and four assists.
Connor Kouki added 11 points off the bench.
Lukas Broadsword finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Bradley Eziuka each scored nine points.
Nelson Sompa led the team with six assists.
Kalamazoo returns to action Saturday, Nov. 23, at Manchester University.
