ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team scored two goals in the final six minutes to end the regular season in a 2-2 tie at Albion on Tuesday.
After a scoreless first half, Albion scored in the 57th minute and again in the 85th minute.
Kalamazoo got on the board with just under six minutes left in regulation when
Chad Ewing hooked in a corner kick over the goalkeeper.
The Hornets had another corner kick in the closing moments of the game. Goalkeeper
Jack Kreckman sprinted up the field and was in position to kick and score off a header from
Jordon Larco to tie the game with nine seconds left on the clock. The game ended in the 2-2 tie.Â
Kalamazoo finished with a 15-11 advantage in shots, 7-5 on goal. The Hornets also had four corner kicks to Albion's two.
Kreckman finished with three saves in goal.
With the tie, Kalamazoo finished the regular season with a 2-3-2 conference record for eight points, tying Adrian for fifth place. Official pairings for the conference tournament come out Wednesday, but initial indications show Kalamazoo as the six-seed playing at three-seed Calvin in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 2.
