KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Olivet 2-1 at home Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first half, Kalamazoo's
Junior Matuza scored in the 68th minute off an assist by
Colin Halloran.
Just over four minutes later, Olivet tied the game with a goal on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute.
Ben Battreall's goal two minutes later put the Hornets up 2-1 with 16 minutes left in regulation.
Henry Plumstead was credited with the assist.
Kalamazoo outshot Olivet 15-12 overall, 8-6 on goal. Olivet had five corner kicks to Kalamazoo's two.Â
Darius Wright III was credited with five saves in goal in the win.
The Hornets are back in action at home on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. when they host Trine on Senior Night.
