NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was defeated 1-0 in the MIAA opener at Saint Mary's College on Wednesday.
The host Belles scored the game's only goal just two minutes and 35 seconds into the contest.
Saint Mary's outshot Kalamazoo 8-6 overall. The Hornets held a 4-3 edge in shots on goal.
Ruby Hogan had five of Kalamazoo's six shots.
Kalamazoo also had seven corner kicks in the contest, while Saint Mary's had zero.
Jess Forbis was credited with two saves in goal for the Hornets.
Kalamazoo returns home on Saturday, Oct. 5, facing Adrian at 12 p.m.
