ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team was defeated 3-0 at Albion in the MIAA opener on Tuesday, 25-23, 25-20, 25-11.
The first set saw 10 ties and five lead changes before Albion finally emerged with the win. The second set had seven ties and two lead changes.
The host Brits hit .281 overall compared to .079 by the Hornets.
Brittany Miller led the Hornets with seven kills and 16 digs.
Ann Lawrence finished with six kills.
Savannah Chapie had six kills while hitting .364.
Makala Goddard led the team with 14 assists.
Jana Molby had eight assists and five digs.
Olive Ryder finished with nine digs.
Kalamazoo returns home to face Olivet on Saturday, Oct. 5, on 1 p.m.
