The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team fell to Calvin College Thursday afternoon by a final score of 3-2.

All five goals in the match were scored in the first half of play, with Calvin scoring the first two.

Madison Moote got the Hornets on the board in the 25th minute when she received a ball from Madeleine Chilcote. After another goal from Calvin, pushing the score to 3-1, Zoe Barnes scored for the Hornets in the 42nd minute.

The Knights held the slight advantage in shots on target, 6-4, at the game's conclusion.

"Calvin was very good to begin the game and we were a step slow," Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings said. "We improved as the game progressed. Hayley Buckhout and Sarah George were both bright spots."

Kalamazoo will look to regroup quickly as it heads home for a Saturday meeting with the visiting Alma Scots. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
