KALAMAZOO, MI - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team defeated Alma 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in its MIAA opener. The sweep puts Kalamazoo's overall record at 5-2 this season. 

Maria Franco and Olivia Bouchard swept No.2 doubles 8-0 while Carrie Foura and Cheryl Zhang only dropped one game in No.2 doubles. Sarah Woods and Sabrina Dass won their doubles match 8-3. 

Carrie Foura was the only Hornet to sweep at No.6 singles. Dass (2), Franco(3), and Zhang(5), each only dropped one game in their singles matches. Sarah Woods won No.1 singles 6-2, 6-0, and Olivia Bouchard won No.4 singles 6-1, 6-4. 

The Hornets next match is Wednesday, Mar. 18 at home against conference opponent Trine.
