The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team won a pair of matches on Monday, defeating Carthage College 5-4 in the morning and Elmhurst College 9-0 in the afternoon.

Kalamazoo trailed 2-1 to Carthage following doubles play, but rallied to win four of the six singles matches to claim the match.

Kelsey Moran and Cheryl Zhang won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.

Sarah Woods (No. 1) and Moran (No. 3) won in straight sets in singles. Anna Latala (No. 4) and Olivia Bouchard (No. 5) clinched the win with three-set victories.

Against Elmhurst, Kalamazoo won all three singles matches before sweeping all six singles matches in straight sets.

Woods and Bouchard won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Woods won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Jenna Riehl won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

The Hornets are scheduled to return to action at Olivet College on March 30 at 1 p.m.
