MARSHALL, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College men's golf team finished third at the season-opening Lou Collins Memorial Tournament hosted by Olivet at The Medalist Wednesday and Thursday.
Kalamazoo shot 312 on Wednesday and 302 on Thursday for a total of 614. Kalamazoo trailed Adrian by two strokes and Albion by nine strokes in the 16-team tournament.
Playing as an individual, freshman
Pierson Curry led all golfers with a combined 147, shooting a 76 on Wednesday and a 1-under 71 on Thursday.
Leading the Kalamazoo team scorers was
Gurnav Jeet Singh Bhatia with a 152 (78-74), followed by
Carson Schehr at 154 (77-77),
Zach Wells at 154 (77-77), and
Jack Hackwell at 156 (80-76).
Kalamazoo returns to action Sept. 11-12 at the Irish Hills Invitational hosted by Adrian at Tecumseh Golf Club.
