DELAWARE, Ohio – The Kalamazoo College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday night to Heidelberg and Anderson at Ohio Wesleyan University. The Hornets were defeated in three sets by Heidelberg before falling in five sets to Anderson.
Kalamazoo vs. Heidelberg
Kalamazoo was defeated in three sets by Heidelberg in the opener, 25-15, 25-17, 25-17.
Heidelberg (8-3) hit .295 in the match compared to .047 by Kalamazoo.
Taylor Stephens led the Hornets with eight kills.
Quaneice Dillard added seven kills with 15 digs.
Savannah Chapie also had seven kills.
Makala Goddard led the team with 21 assists.
Ashley Zollman added 12 digs and two aces.
Kalamazoo vs. Anderson
After splitting the first four sets, Anderson scored the first seven points in the fifth set. Kalamazoo battled back to make it 9-5 but could not get any closer before falling 15-6.
Anderson (7-3) hit .164 in the match compared to .139 by Kalamazoo.
Mya Parks led Kalamazoo with 16 kills.
Taylor Stephens finished with 15 kills and 25 digs.
Quaneice Dillard had 13 kills with nine digs.
Savannah Chapie finished with 12 kills.
Bella Lewis tallied 35 assists and 11 digs, while
Makala Goddard finished with 20 assists.
Rachel Hursey had 18 digs, while
Ashley Zollman finished with 17.
Stephens and Parks each had three aces in the match.
