Men's Soccer Falls to #20 UChicago at Home

KALAMAZOO, Mich.– The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team lost to the #20 University of Chicago, 4-2, at MacKenzie Field Saturday.

The Hornets struck first on a penalty kick in the fifth minute after Ryan Clark drew a foul in the box. Lucas Ruiz took the kick and drilled it through the left side.

Chicago responded with a goal in the 11th minute to knot the score at 1-1, which held through halftime.

The Maroons came out firing in the second half, scoring in the 55th, 60th, and 75th minutes.

Kalamazoo earned another penalty kick in the 78th minute, and Brody Plumstead capitalized with a blast on target in the upper third of the goal.

Chicago outshot the Hornets, 28-6 overall and 14-5 in shots on goal. Darius Wright III made 10 saves in defeat.

Kalamazoo men's soccer (2-2-1) remains at home for each of its next four matches. The Hornets take on North Park University (2-1-1) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
