ANGOLA, Ind. – The Kalamazoo College women's golf team tied for second place at the 12-team Trine University Kick-Off Classic at Zollner Golf Club on Tuesday.
Kalamazoo shot 328 overall, tying for second with Saint Mary's College. Both teams trailed the leader (Trine) by 15 strokes.
Jacey Merkle tied for fourth overall while leading Kalamazoo with a 79 (+7).
Gabrielle Sluss tied for seventh with an 80.
Jillian Smith tied for ninth with an 81, while
Nadia Zerlaut tied for 12
th at 82.
Ellie Britt and
Kate Posey both shot 86.
Kalamazoo returns to action Friday and Saturday, Sept. 4-5, at the Kyle Campbell Memorial hosted by Olivet at The Medalist in Marshall, Mich.
