KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College baseball team was defeated 8-3 and 6-3 by Adrian College on Saturday at Woodworth Field.
Game One – Adrian 8, Kalamazoo 3
Adrian led 3-1 after three innings and 4-1 after four. Kalamazoo made it 4-2 in the sixth and trailed 5-3 after seven before the Bulldogs added three more runs in the final two innings.
Adrian outhit Kalamazoo 12-8.
Tanner Hawkins and
David Stechow each had two hits for the Hornets.
Logan Lockhart and
Cade Preissing each had a double.
Cooper Mills drove in two runs.
Game Two – Adrian 6, Kalamazoo 3
Adrian scored a run in the top of the first but trailed 2-1 after Kalamazoo scored two runs in the bottom of the third. Adrian tied it with a run in the fourth before scoring twice in the fifth. The Bulldogs led 4-3 at the end of five and held that lead until scoring twice in the top of the ninth.
Adrian outhit Kalamazoo 11-8.
Caleb Moore,
David Stechow and
Cade Preissing each had two hits for Kalamazoo. Moore's double was Kalamazoo's only extra-base hit.
