RICHMOND, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team completed the three-game sweep of Earlham with a 14-3 win Sunday afternoon.
After scoring the first run of the game in the top of the fourth, Kalamazoo trailed 3-1 after Earlham scored three in the bottom half. Kalamazoo added a run in the fifth and sixth innings to even it up at 3-3 before scoring two in the seventh, four in the eighth and five in the ninth to take the 14-3 win.
Kalamazoo finished with 16 hits in the game compared to seven by Earlham. Kalamazoo stole 11 bases in the game, one short of tying the school record.
Austin Keur went 4-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases.
Tanner Hawkins finished 3-for-6 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base.
Cooper Mills had two hits, three runs scored and two stolen bases.
Cade Preissing also had two hits.
Robert Newland had a single, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Eight Kalamazoo pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts.
Kalamazoo (5-2) returns to action next weekend beginning with games on Saturday against Elmhurst and Illinois Tech in Bloomington, Ill.
