The Kalamazoo College men's and women's cross country teams were selected as U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Teams for the 2024 season on Thursday, Jan. 30th. This is the sixth consecutive season that both cross country programs have earned this honor.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
The Kalamazoo women's program boasted a 3.52 team GPA last term, while the men ended the term with a 3.35 team GPA.
Additionally, the women's program had three individuals recognized as an All-Academic Athlete for maintaining at least a 3.30 GPA and finishing within the Top 25 percent at the Regional Championship meet.
Paige Anderson,
Ava King, and
Nora O'Leary were among the 405 athletes who earned this honor.
On the men's side,
Carson Cook was the sole Hornet to receive the All-Academic Athlete honor amongst 342 athletes.
