NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team split a pair of matches at Manchester University on Saturday, falling to the host Spartans, 3-0, before defeating Wilmington College, 3-1.
Kalamazoo vs. Manchester
Manchester defeated Kalamazoo 25-17, 25-19, 25-15. The host Spartans hit .258 in the match compared to .021 by the Hornets.
Brittany Miller led Kalamazoo with eight kills and five digs.
Josee Cooke added four kills.
Savannah Chapie finished with three.
Makala Goddard led the Hornets with 10 assists and eight digs.
Lizzy Rachiele finished with seven digs.
Kalamazoo vs. Wilmington
After dropping the first set 25-23, Kalamazoo won the next three sets 25-19, 25-13, 25-18 to win the match.
Kalamazoo hit .156 in the match compared to .071 by Wilmington.
Brittany Miller tallied 17 kills in the match with 11 digs.
Savannah Chapie had six kills with a .417 hitting percentage.
Jenna Gremel also had six kills.
Makala Goddard had 22 assists and nine digs.
Jana Molby finished with 13 assists and seven digs.
Josee Cooke and
Toni Koshmider were each in on three blocks.
Lizzy Rachiele led the team with 16 digs.
Rachel Meston finished with 13 digs.
