KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, 3-1 over Concordia (MI) at MacKenzie Field on Saturday evening.
The Cardinals got off to a quick start when Bryce Schander found the back of the net in the 6th minute to go up 1-0.
The Hornets responded in the 54th minute when junior
Henry Plumstead made a pass from the right side to sophomore
Lucas Ruiz to even the score, 1-1. The duo connected again in the 66th minute but from the other side of the pitch to give Kalamazoo a 2-1 lead.
Plumstead then went one-on-one with a defender and found the back right side of the net to secure the victory, 3-1, in the 89th minute.
Kalamazoo outshot Concordia 21-5, with 10 shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Gavin Houtkooper had one save on the night.
The Hornets are back in action Friday, September 6, at 7 p.m. in Kalamazoo against the University of Chicago.
