Box Score ADA, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team was defeated 77-59 at Ohio Northern University on Monday.
After a back-and-forth first half, Kalamazoo took a 40-37 lead into halftime.
Kalamazoo led 47-40 five minutes into the second half before the host Polar Bears went on a 14-0 run to take a 54-47 lead with 11:01 remaining. The Hornets were within six (62-56) with 7:33 left but were held to just three points the rest of the way.
Ohio Northern shot 45.5 percent overall including 10-of-30 from 3-point range and 7-of-8 at the free throw line. Kalamazoo shot 41.1 percent overall including 4-of-18 from behind the arc and 9-of-13 at the line.
Ohio Northern held a 36-35 edge in rebounds including 12-10 on the offensive end.
Lukas Broadsword led the Hornets with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Patrick Perez finished with 11 points and five rebounds.
DJ Ferguson scored 10 points with three rebounds.Â
Bradley Eziuka added eight points, while
Nelson Sompa finished with seven.
Kalamazoo returns to action on Tuesday with a 1 p.m. contest at Bluffton University.
