KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost its home opener in three sets to Manchester University Tuesday night, 25-21, 25-20, 30-28.

It was a competitive match, with five ties and five lead changes in the first set, five ties and four lead changes in the second, and 10 ties and two lead changes in the third. Kalamazoo had four set points in the third, but Manchester came back each time and eventually clinched the set and the match.

Manchester hit .226 in the match compared to .149 by Kalamazoo.

Brittany Miller led the Hornets with seven kills and a .235 attack percentage. Savannah Chapie added six kills. Taylor Stephens had five kills with six digs and four blocks.

Sara Reathaford led the team with 11 assists. Jana Molby finished with eight.

Lizzy Rachiele had a team-high seven digs with three service aces.

Kalamazoo returns to action Friday with a pair of matches at Bluffton's Sommer Center Spiketacular.
