KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team was defeated in five sets by Manchester University in an exciting match inside Anderson Athletic Center on Wednesday.

Kalamazoo claimed the first two sets, 25-18, 25-19 before losing the next two sets 25-15, 25-15. Neither team led by more than two points in the fifth set with multiple ties throughout. After a 14-14 tie, Manchester scored the next two points to win the set 16-14 and win the match.

Ann Lawrence led the Hornets with 11 kills.

Kayla Ridenour posted 17 assists while Lizzy Rachiele and Ashley Rill each had 16 digs. Halley Johnson had seven kills with 15 digs while Rorie Dougherty also reached double figures in digs with 12.

The Hornets close out this homestand with a match against North Park scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24.
