Women's Soccer rolls behind Moote's two goals

Box Score

After going down 1-0 to the Alma Scots early in the first half of play, the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team responded with three unanswered goals on its way to a 3-1 win in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Saturday afternoon.

"The girls came out focused and ready to compete today," Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings said.

Madison Moote tied up the game for the Hornets in the 32nd minute when she received a through ball from Allie Brodsky.

After heading to halftime with the game level at 1-1, the Hornets broke the deadlock in the 70th minute when Sydney Spring recorded her second goal of the season.

Moote added her second goal of the day just over a minute later when she was played in behind the Scots' backline by Christina Dandar. Moote leads the Hornets with five goals in 2015.

"Moote displayed outstanding composure on both of her goals," Goyings said.

Kalamazoo will look to keep its momentum going when it travels to Adrian College on Wednesday, Sept. 23. Kickoff time is set for 7 p.m.
