CHICAGO, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the University of Chicago Gargoyle Classic on Friday.

Kalamazoo dropped the opener in four sets to No. 11 Elmhurst College. Kalamazoo took the first set 25-22 before losing the next three 25-14, 25-16, 25-21.

Kalamazoo hit .318 in that first set but hit .071 for the entire match while Elmhurst hit .189.

Nya Greenstone led the Hornets with 19 kills and seven digs. Kelsey Hill added nine kills with a .467 attack percentage.

Alex Gothard had 28 assists with a team-high nine digs.

The Hornets lost their match with No. 25 Millikin 25-10, 25-22, 25-19.

Greenstone again led K with six kills. Hill and Kaela Van Til each had three.

Camille Giacobone had seven assists while Logan Horejsi led the team with 11 digs.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday with a pair of matches beginning at 10 a.m. CT.
