RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 90-52 win at Dominican University (Ill.) on Thursday.

Kalamazoo jumped out to an early lead and never let up, taking a 54-24 lead into halftime.

After shooting 54.5 percent in the first half Kalamazoo finished the game at 44.3 percent while holding the host Stars to 30.6 percent. The Hornets sank 23-of-29 free throws compared to 18-of-24 by Dominican. Kalamazoo held a 44-38 advantage in rebounds, including 16-10 on the offensive end.

Kalamazoo also pressured Dominican into 25 turnovers while the Hornets limited their turnovers to just six.

Emily Lindsay scored all of her game-high 16 points in the first half while making 4-of-6 3-pointers. 

Perri Nicholson added 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals on 5-of-9 shooting and a perfect 4-of-4 free throws.

Grace Smith added 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Claire Slaughter was the fourth player in double figures with 10 points and two steals on 5-of-10 shooting off the bench.

Kelsey Adamski added nine points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals in 30 minutes of play.

Kalamazoo will take about a week off from games before returning to action at Bluffton University on Nov. 29.
