Box Score The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 66-63 to Adrian in the Anderson Athletic Center on Saturday.
After falling behind early, Kalamazoo took its first lead of the game (10-8) with 15:09 left in the first half. The Hornets led by as many as eight points before Adrian rallied to tie the game (27-27) with 3:45 left in the half. Adrian closed out the half with a 9-3 run to take a 36-32 lead into halftime.
Adrian extended its lead to 13 points (60-47) with 5:26 left in the second half, but Kalamazoo made a run at the end cutting the deficit to three (64-61) with 1:09 remaining. Adrian hit a jumper to increase its lead to five before Kalamazoo came back with a bucket in the paint to cut the deficit back to three (66-63) with 22 seconds remaining. Adrian missed four free throws in the final 18 seconds giving Kalamazoo two chances to tie, but the Hornets were unable to hit a three-pointer as time expired.
Adrian shot 50 percent overall while hitting just 12-of-31 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 37.5 percent overall while sinking 9-of-28 three-pointers and 12-of-15 free throws. Adrian held a 39-32 advantage in rebounds, including 15-12 on the offensive end.
Emily Lindsay led Kalamazoo with 20 points while making 6-of-12 three-pointers. Nicole Antoine added 15 points with four rebounds.
India Hoskins scored a career-high 14 points with three assists in 17 minutes off the bench.
Kalamazoo plays its final home game of the season against Albion College on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.
