The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team finally made it home to brand-new MacKenzie Field on Sept. 29, though it was visiting Calvin who prevailed, 5-0.
The Knights' Joe Broekhuizen netted goals in the 41st and 43rd minutes. Zach Willis scored in the 64th, Mike Sanderson in the 82nd and Sam Hanover in the 84th minute.
Dane Macdonnell made four saves in net for the Hornets. Calvin keeper Jared Rushlau saved seven for the shutout.
Kalamazoo put seven of 13 shots on net and Calvin put nine of 17 on frame.
Four yellow cards were handed out in the contest, two to K and two to Calvin.
The Knights won three corner kicks to the Hornets' one.
Kalamazoo (5-3-1, 3-2-0 MIAA) is back on the road at Albion on Oct. 2.
