Box Score A pair of first half goals lifted Kalamazoo College to a 2-0 win over Carthage on Saturday at Wheaton (Ill.).
Roger Mason Darling put the Hornets on the board just over four minutes into the contest (David Morris assist). Kalamazoo made it 2-0 with a goal by Nicholas Shabino in the 23rd minute (Dagan Hammar assist).
The two goals proved to be enough as the Hornets held Carthage scoreless for 90 minutes.
Carthage outshot Kalamazoo, 22-8, but only 7-5 on goal. Beau Prey made seven saves in goal to earn the shutout.
Kalamazoo (1-1) is scheduled to face Manchester next on Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. at Trine University.
