The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team lost 5-2 to No. 21 Mary Washington on Saturday, May 12, ending the Hornets run in the second round of the NCAA III Tournament.
Mary Washington led 2-1 afer doubles, including a 9-8(6) win at No. 1 doubles. Steve Hanselman and Peter Rothstein won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles for Kalamazoo. Mark Denenfeld won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles to even the match score at 2-2, but the Eagles won the next three points at Nos. 1, 3, and 5 singles to win the match.
After winning its 74th consecutive MIAA championship, Kalamazoo's season ends with an overall record of 13-12.
