Volleyball Competes in Tri-Match at Wheaton

WHEATON, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team competed in a tri-match at Wheaton College on Saturday.

Kalamazoo vs. Illinois Tech

Kalamazoo won the opener in three sets over Illinois Tech, 25-17, 25-13, 25-22.

Kalamazoo hit .224 in the match compared to .019 for Illinois Tech.

Ashley Rill and Madi Goodman each had seven kills to lead the Hornets. Goodman also led the team with five blocks.

Grace Kraft had six kills with 25 assists and eight digs.

Lindsey Nedd led the team with 12 digs while Taylor Ferguson had 11 digs.

Kalamazoo vs. Wheaton

Wheaton defeated Kalamazoo in four sets in the second match. Wheaton took a 2-0 lead (25-21, 25-11) before Kalamazoo won the third set 25-14. Wheaton narrowly pulled out the win with a 26-24 advantage in the fourth set.

Kalamazoo hit .305 overall compared to .289 for Wheaton.

Lindsey Nedd led the Hornets with 20 kills and 10 digs. Madi Goodman had 15 kills while hitting .500 in the match.

Sydney Dowdell and Megan Williams each had eight kills.

Grace Kraft posted 48 assists while Taylor Ferguson had 24 digs.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Saint Mary's on Senior Night next Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
