Volleyball Defeats Manchester in Five Sets

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team improved its record to 10-3 following a five-set victory over Manchester Wednesday evening. 

The teams traded sets as the Hornets won the first 25-22, dropped the second 20-25, picked up the third 25-21, lost the fourth 24-26, and won the final set 15-12. 

Madi Goodman led the Kalamazoo attack with 16 kills on the match. Hannah Kerns followed with nine and Sydney Dowdell tallied eight. 

A trio of Hornets put together impressive defensive showings as Grace Kraft led the team with 19 digs and was followed up by Taylor Ferguson and Maddie Wojcik who picked up 18 and 17, respectively. 

Kraft also led Kalamazoo in assists with 39. 

The Hornets return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 24 as they begin MIAA play by hosting Olivet at 7 p.m.
