Volleyball Falls in Season Opener

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost its season-opening matches to Chicago and North Park at the Gargoyle Classic on Friday.

The host Maroons defeated 25-9, 25-14, 25-15 in the opener.

Maria Katrantzi led the Hornets with five kills. Shelby Suseland added three.

Taylor Ferguson was credited with nine digs while Zoey Ammon had seven digs and six assists.

North Park defeated K 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 in the second match. 

Suseland led the Hornets with eight kills.

Ferguson had 10 digs while Ammon had 11 assists and five digs.

Kalamazoo faces Central (Iowa) on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET in Chicago.
