Volleyball defeats Beloit 3-1

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team defeated Beloit College 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-18, 25-14) in the final match of the Hornet Invitational on Saturday. The win marked the second staight for the Hornets after defeating Anderson Friday night.

Kalamazoo hit an impressive .517 in the first set and finished the match at .359.

Maria Katrantzi led the Hornets with 16 kills and 14 digs.

Rachel Girard posted 13 kills and 14 digs and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Shelby Suseland also recorded 13 kills in the match.

Kaiya Herman-Hilker posted 24 assists with eight digs while Zoey Ammon had 21 assists and six digs.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Calvin.
