Women's Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Academic Award

The 2019-20 Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday as one of 556 collegiate women's teams to earn the Team Academic Award. It is the eighth consecutive year the Hornets have earned this award. The Hornet men's team also earned the award this year making Kalamazoo College one of 172 colleges or universities to earn both awards. 

The award is given to soccer teams who posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2019-20 academic year.

Kalamazoo carried a 3.48 GPA collectively throughout the school year.

The team's GPA also earned an MIAA Team GPA Award last year by achieving a 3.30 or better GPA. Kalamazoo had 13 individuals named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll from the 2019-20 season. 

The 2019-20 Kalamazoo College women's soccer team finished 8-8-3 overall while finishing third in the MIAA with a 5-2-1 league record. The Hornets advanced to the MIAA Tournament championship game.
