KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College Athletic Leadership Council announced Tuesday that Rachel Madar of the women's lacrosse team was honored as the Hornet of the Week for the third time this season.

Madar, a sohpomore from DeWitt, Mich. (DeWitt HS), had another big week for the Hornets as she added 12 points to her season total after 11 goals and one assist in Kalamazoo's two games in California. She now has 29 goals in Kalamazoo's eight games which places her sixth in the conference.

Eight goals against Whittier are behind only her own school record of nine last season against Alma. The team's 19 goals in the win are third best in the history of the program.

Madar also collected 20 draw controls which takes her season total up to 79. This mark is good for first in the MIAA and fifth in NCAA DIII. Her 9.88 draw controls per game put her in fourth in DIII.

The Hornets will open up MIAA play at Hope on Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m.
