ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team dropped a pair of games at Adrian on Wednesday afternoon, losing 10-2 in the first and 11-3 in the second.
The Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the first as Anna Majewski singled to bring home Andrea MacMichael. In the fourth Briana Huisken flied out to center to drive in Hayleigh Alamo and make the score 3-2 in favor of Adrian heading into the fifth.
Adrian, however, scored seven runs in the fifth to go ahead 10-2 and end the end.
Sammi Luzadre gave up three runs on five hits in four innings of work, but took the loss for K.
Adrian put five runs on the board in the second inning to jump out to an early lead. The Hornets answered with two of their own in the third, but were unable to find any more offensive production until the seventh when Andrea MacMichael doubled and then Izzy Kirck brought her home with a single. Adrian closed out the game with another five runs in the seventh.
Kirck led K offensively in the game, going 2-for-4 at the plate and driving in a pair of runs.
The Hornets will host Olivet on Saturday, April 14th for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
