Men's Tennis Wins MIAA Tournament Semifinal

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Adrian 5-0 in an MIAA Tournament semifinal inside the Markin Center on Thursday. As the top-seed in the tournament Kalamazoo will host the championship match on Saturday at noon.

Kalamazoo swept the three doubles matches before winning two singles matches to claim the win Thursday.

Daniel Henry/Ian Yi (1) and Tytus Metzler/Alex Cadigan (3) each won 8-0 to start doubles. Allen Vinson/Zack Ray won 8-1 at three.

Yi made it 4-0 with 6-0, 6-0 win at one singles before Metzler clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at three.

Henry led 6-0, 1-0 at two while Vinson led 6-2, 1-0 at four when the match was decided.

The winner of Saturday's tournament championship earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships.
