Yi Named MIAA Player of the Week (2/4/19)

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kalamazoo College men's tennis player Ian Yi was honored for his big week on Monday afternoon by being named MIAA Player of the Week.

Yi, a freshman from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Pioneer HS), was victourious in all three of his matches over the weekend including two wins at No. 1 singles. 

The freshman began the week winning his lone doubles match with Daniel Henry in Kalamazoo's 9-0 sweep over Wabash College. He followed the win up with a one singles win later in the match. 

In Kalamazoo's match on Saturday with No. 3 Chicago, Yi won 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at one singles against a three-time All-American. 

Yi picked up where he left off during the fall season and this marks the second time in his young career that he has been named Player of the Week. 

Kalamazoo returns to action at home against Coe College on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m.
