Men's Tennis on to the finals

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team defeated Adrian 5-0 in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals Thursday inside the Markin Center. Kalamazoo will host Calvin in the tournament finals on Friday with the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships on the line.

Kalamazoo got off to a good start in doubles Thursday with 8-0 wins at two (Eric De Witt/Zack Ray) and three (Allen Vinson/Daniel Henry) doubles. Branden Metzler and Elan Dantus completed the sweep of doubles with an 8-4 win at number one.

It didn't take long for Kalamazoo to clinch the match as Daniel Henry won 6-1, 6-2 at two singles and Elan Dantus won 6-2, 6-0 at three to earn Kalamazoo's fifth and deciding point.

Friday's championship match is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Stowe Stadium or inside the Markin Center depending on the weather. Kalamazoo defeated Calvin 9-0 during the regular season in Kalamazoo.
