KALAMAZOO, Mich. - In a release by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Sam Ankley and Brenden French of the Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team have been selected as All-MIAA members.
Ankley, a freshman from Kalamazoo, Mich. (Kalamazoo Central), was selected following a third-place showing in the 3-meter diving event at the MIAA Championships with a score of 468.05. This score was his best of the season in the 3-meter, 11 dive event.
Ankley holds the top scores in all four diving events on Kalamazoo's team this season including a 281.30 in the 1-meter, six dive contest which is the top score in the MIAA. He has been named the MIAA Diver of the Week five times this season
French, a senior from Southfield, Mich. (Groves), closed out his season at the MIAA Championships with a trio of top-three finishes. He finished second in the 100 breastroke with a time of :55.97. French also finished third at the championships in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
French holds team-best times in the 50-, 100-, and 200-yard breaststroke events this season. His times of :25.00 in the 50 breaststroke and his :55.97 in the 100 breaststroke are both top-three times in the MIAA in 2019-20.
