Men's Swimming & Diving Fifth at Calvin Invite

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's swimming and diving team competed at the Calvin Invite Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5-7.

Saturday's Highlights

Kalamazoo finished fifth overall.

Sam Ankley finished fourth in the 1-Meter Diving event with a score of 394.35.

The 200 Medley Relay team finished seventh overall with a time of 1:33.65 (Tyler Sakalys-Moore, Brenden French, Michael Orwin, Grant Stille). 

The 400 Free Relay team finished ninth with a time of 3:09.97 (Brenden French, Michael Orwin, Luke Durden, Grant Stille). 

Matt Howrey finished tenth in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:08.84.

Friday's Highlights

The Hornets are in fifth place following Friday's competition.

Sam Ankley finished fourth in the 3-Meter Diving event with a score of 413.35.

The 200 Free Relay team finished fifth overall with a time of 1:22.64 (Brenden French, Michael Orwin, Luke Durden, Grant Stille). 

Matt Howrey finished sixth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:10.62.

Brenden French finished first in the B Final of the 100 Breaststroke with a time of :57.47, the sixth-fastest time of the three finals.

Thursday's Highlights

Kalamazoo is in fourth place at the end of two events on the opening night.

Matt Howrey finished seventh overall in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 16:38.77.

The Hornets' fastest 800 Free Relay team finished 15th with a time of 7:18.63 (Luke Durden, Oliver Tye, Nick Nerhood, Matt Howrey).
