KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's soccer team defeated Alma Saturday evening in a Homecoming match that ended 3-1.
After Alma's Kyle Farmer opened up the scoring in the 19th minute, Kalamazoo responded with three unanswered goals of its own to earn the victory.
Junior forward Ben Meschke tied the game in the 36th minute as the teams took the 1-1 draw into the halftime break.
Meschke found the back of the net for the second time in the match just over one minute into the second half for his ninth goal of the season.
The Hornets outshot the Scots 19-9 in the match and held a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Goalie Luke Kastran tallied four saves while allowing just the one score.
Kalamazoo returns to play on Tuesday, Oct. 22 when it hosts Albion for a match that is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
