Andrew Thiede joined the Kalamazoo College football coaching staff as a graduate assistant during the summer of 2017.

Thiede graduated from Kalamazoo College in June of 2017 with degrees in biology and chemistry. He was a four-year letter winner at defensive end for the Hornets and a captain his senior year. Thiede earned All-MIAA Second Team honors as a senior while leading the team in sacks (7.5) and tackles for loss (8.5). He also led the team in sacks (6.0) his junior year. Thiede’s 14.5 career sacks ranks third in school history. He also finished his career with 20.5 tackles for loss with five forced fumbles.

A native of Sterling Heights, Mich. (Stevenson HS), Thiede currently resides in Kalamazoo while working towards a master’s degree in exercise physiology at Western Michigan University.
