Kalamazoo College's Anthony Giovanni was named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the Hornet's game against Trine over the weekend.

Giovanni, a junior from Farmington Hills, Mich. (Harrison HS), consistently gave Kalamazoo great field position on Saturday with four kickoff returns that totaled 115 yards. These returns included a 49-yard return in his first chance to return a kick on the afternoon.

Along with great returns, Giovanni also added five catches as a reciever for Kalamazoo that went for 56 yards and a touchdown in the third quarter.

Giovanni ended the year with 16 kickoff returns for 358 yards, a 22.4 yard average per return. He also caught 28 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns. Those four touchdowns were tied for the most on the team.

The Hornets ended the regular season with a 7-3 overall record. Their 4-3 record against conference opponents finished them in a tie for third-place in the MIAA.
