Rob Orr joined the Kalamazoo College baseball coaching staff in 2015 and enters his third season as an assistant coach. He assists with the catchers and the hitters.
Over his time, Kalamazoo had its most successful years as a program to date. Garnering an appearance in the program’s first NCAA Regional, the 2016 team set the program mark for overall wins in a season (24). That record was broken the following year as the 2017 team collected 31 wins for the program’s first 30 win season, along with setting 15 team single season records.
Prior to his time at Kalamazoo, Orr served as the Bath High School varsity baseball coach from 2004 to 2015, leading the program to the most wins in school history (238). His teams won six league or league tournament championships and the 2010 team advanced to the final four. The pitching staff on the 2012 team struck out 367 batters, the second most in MHSAA history.
Orr was named Lansing Area Coach of the Year three times, and 25 former players moved on to play college baseball.
Rob is a teacher at Bath High School. He and his wife, Nicol, reside in Dewitt, Mich. and have two children, Ryan and Rachel.
