Baseball picked third in MIAA Preseason Poll

The 2018 Kalamazoo College baseball team was picked to finish third in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in a poll conducted by the league coaches and announced Friday.

Kalamazoo is coming off a second place finish in the MIAA last year after winning a school record 31 games overall (31-14) and 20 conference games (20-8). The Hornets also advanced to the championship game of the MIAA Tournament.

Todd Bonnivier, Connor Grant, Ryan Orr, Josh Reuter and Jordan Wiley will serve as this year's captains. Orr earned numerous accolades last year and is the program's first-ever First Team Preseason All-American this year.

Kalamazoo opens the 2018 season March 4-5 at Oglethorpe (Ga.).
