The Kalamazoo College baseball team has had three players named to the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's preseason DIII players to watch list. The three players named were Scott Devine, Ian Kobernick, and Dylan Pierce.
Scott Devine, the 6-1, 190 pound senior outfielder from Plymouth, Michigan was co-captain of the team last year and will be again this year. Devine led the team in RBIs for the past two seasons and last season also led the team in homeruns and stolen bases. He was also All-MIAA Second Team in 2014.
Ian Kobernick, the 5-9, 175 pound outfielder is heading into just his second season with the Hornets. Last season Kobernick led the team in hits, and had a career high three RBIs in a game against Trine last April.
Dylan Pierce, the 6-0, 185 pound left-handed junior pitcher joins Devine as a co-captain this season. In 2014 Pierce led the team in ERA, innings pitched, games started, and strikeouts. Pierce also joined Devine as All-MIAA Second Team last season. Pierce threw a career high nine strikeouts against Alma last March.
