Kalamazoo College women's tennis player
Eleni Bougioukou was named MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Monday, April 13, 2026.
A senior from Agios Stefanos, Greece (Arsakeio Tositseio Ekalis), Bougioukou went 2-0 in both singles and doubles competition last week, helping the Hornets defeat Alma, 7-0, and Adrian, 6-1.
Competing at No. 3 singles. Bougioukou won 6-0, 6-1 against Alma and 6-1, 6-0 against Adrian. At No. 2 doubles with
Soussana Kimbouris, the duo won 6-0 over Adrian and 6-2 over Alma.
The award is the first MIAA weekly honor of the season for Bougioukou and the second in her career at Kalamazoo.
Bougioukou is now 9-5 in singles on the season and 4-0 in conference play. Bougioukou and Kimbouris are 3-1 in conference play in doubles.
Kalamazoo (10-4, 4-0 MIAA) has a pair of matches at home this week, competing against Albion on Wednesday, April 15 at 4 p.m. followed by a Senior Day match against Hope on Friday, April 17, at 4 p.m.
