Swimming and Diving Seniors Honor Most Valuable Professors

The 2025-26 Kalamazoo College swimming and diving seniors have selected their Most Valuable Professors to recognize this season.

The Hornets selected Dr. Amelia Katanski, Dr. Dwight Williams, Amy MacMillan, Dr. Dennis Frost, Dr. Kathryn Sederberg, Dr. Beau Bothwell and Dr. Anne Marie Butler.

Olivia Bagwell selected Dr. Katanski from the English Department as her MVP. Bagwell chose Dr. Katanski because of the lasting impact she has on her students both academically and personally.

Dr. Williams of the Chemistry Department was chosen by Trustin Christopher because he has been an amazing mentor. Christopher said that under the guidance and experiences he shared with Dr. Williams, they have formed a wonderful relationship that will last long after graduation.

Lily May recognized Professor MacMillan from the Business Department as her MVP. May said she has been able to develop herself professionally and creatively through MacMillan's classes.

Dr. Frost of the History Department was honored by Lizzy Muenzenmaier because he has been foundational in her academic journey at K. L. Muenzenmaier said she would not be where she is today without Dr. Frost's influence.

Mary Muenzenmaier selected Dr. Sederberg from the German Studies Department as her MVP because she has been instrumental to M. Muenzenmaier's success at K. She thanked Dr. Sederberg for her outstanding support both in the classroom and on the pool deck.

Dr. Bothwell, from the Music Department, was recognized by Chelsea Paddock. Paddock said he is one of the most engaging and thoughtfully intentional professors she had at K, and you can tell he cares about not only the subject matter of his classes, but that the students understand and connect with the material.

Finally, Frannie Turner honored Dr. Butler from the Art History and Women, Gender and Sexuality Departments as her MVP. Turner selected Dr. Butler because she always supported and motivated her in the pool, in the classroom, and in life.

On behalf of the athletic department, THANK YOU to these Most Valuable Professors for positively influencing our student-athletes. Your work is greatly appreciated!

Kalamazoo College senior athletes have the opportunity to recognize their Most Valuable Professors throughout the 2025-26 season.
