The Hornet Soccer Day Camp program offers quarter day (only for Little Hornets), half-day and full-day options for soccer players of every ability level who would like to improve their individual skill and understanding of team play. The camp is designed for boys and girl’s ages 4 to 6 year olds (Little Hornets), 7-10 year olds (Junior Hornets) and 11-14 year olds (Future Hornets), who are enthusiastic about learning in a fun but challenging environment.
During the week, campers will be placed in level-appropriate groups and taught a wide range of skills that are designed to improve each player’s creativity, fundamental skill, and mastery of the ball. We will scrimmage every day in small groups to encourage more touches on the ball, better decision making as well as improving their speed of play under pressure. We will also train in large groups, to enhance understanding of movement with and without the ball. In addition, we will also offer daily goalkeeper training sessions to help improve angle and positioning, footwork, handling, shot stopping, distribution and dealing with aerial balls/crosses.
DIRECTORS: This camp will be led by Kalamazoo College Men's Soccer Head Coach Lumumba Shabazz who is a USSF A & NSCAA Premier Diploma licensed coach.
