Women's Tennis Team, Individuals earn ITA Academic honors

The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team and five individual players were awarded academic honors by the Intercollegiate Athletic Association (ITA) on Thursday.

The women's tennis team was named a 2013 ITA All-Academic Team for achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above. The Hornets had a 3.328 cumulative GPA this year.

Five members of the team were named ITA Scholar Athletes.

Kelsey Moran, Cheryl Zhang, Kristen Ellefson, Elizabeth Tyburski, and Sally Harrison each earned the award by earning a varsity letter in tennis, carrying at least a 3.5 grade point average for the 2012-13 academic year, and been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).
