Mark Riley, Kalamazoo College's head men's tennis coach, was inducted into the University of Pennsylvania Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 4.
Riley was part of an 11-member Hall of Fame class inducted during the Penn Tennis Homecoming Reunion Dinner.
Riley led Penn to Ivy League titles in 2006 and 2007, and the Quakers were ECAC champions in 2005 and 2006. During his tenure at Penn, Mark coached eight first-team All-Ivy picks, a pair of Ivy League Rookies of the Year—the program's first two major Ivy awards—and the 2004 ITA Northeast Region Rookie of the Year. In 2006, Mark was named ITA Northeast Region Coach of the Year, USTA Middle States Tennis Association Section Coach of the Year, and Philadelphia Area Tennis District Collegiate Coach of the Year.
A 1982 Kalamazoo College graduate, Riley returned to his alma mater as head coach and director of the USTA Boys' 18 & 16 National Championships in 2007. He was named Wilson/ITA Division III Cetnral Region Coach of the Year this spring after leading the Hornets to an 18-2 record.
